Reducing Clicks for Enhanced Efficiency for WMS Mobile APP

Reducing clicks in a Warehouse Management System V. 3.0 (WMS) application involves streamlining user interactions to achieve tasks with fewer mouse clicks or screen taps on Android Handheld devices (PDA). This optimization aims to enhance user efficiency, minimize errors, and improve overall productivity. Some strategies for reducing clicks in a App include: 

The recent system updates will introduce an automatic field selection and auto navigation from one screen to another basis on the information required to move forward. Users can now easily complete the picking and packing process with very less to no interaction on application.

Picking Workflow 

To explore and experience newly released product feature you can follow below mentioned steps: 

Step 1: Open and login to WMS mobile app

Step 2: Under things to do Pick Order section select Pick by Order option.

Step 3: Under Pick By Order Screen order list will be displayed and cursor will be set to Scan order Number. 

 

Step 4: Enter Order number in Scan Order No. 


After scanning order number, order will be selected automatically and order details will appear avoiding a click to select the order. Under order details order Scan Location field would be selected by default. Cursor will be automatically assigned to Scan location field. User don’t have to select location scanning field manually. 

Note: Basis on customer level settings, Scan Pick Bin Number field would be displayed, otherwise after scanning location, automatically scan SKU/UPC field would get selected to enter the details. This eliminates the click required to select the specific field. If Pick bin scanning is mandatory then after scanning the location the cursor will automatically move to ‘Scan Pick Bin Number’ filed. 

Step 5: Scan Location in the selected field.

Step 6: Scan SKU/UPC field would be selected

Step 7: Scan/Enter the SKU/UPC 

Once SKU is picked, it automatically scrolls the next product in the list at top (eliminating the scroll action) Picked product will go in the bottom of the list and next SKU, which user has to pick will appear on top. This will avoid the scrolling of product in orders that needs to be picked. 

 

Once the last SKU of the list is picked, it will redirect to summary screen. This is avoiding one extra click.  

 

Step 8: Select Packer and click on handover to packer option.

Packing Workflow 

 

Now, Order has been picked and handed over to packer for further processing. 

To begin with Packing please follow following steps: 

Step 9: Select Assigned Order under Pack Orders section

After clicking on assigned orders user will be navigated to Pack Orders screen with Search Pick Bin/ order number field selected. 

Step 10: User need to enter/scan the order number or Pick bin number, he wants to proceed with.

Once user scans the order number to start packing, User can directly start doing the QC.  Here ‘Scan SKU/UPC fields get selected automatically (Eliminating click to select the order number). 

Step 11: Scan the SKU/UPC

As user scans the SKU/UPC for product, next product in the order appears with Scan SKU/UPC field already selected. (This eliminated the clicks to select the next product in an order for packing). 

Once user scan SKU/UPC for all the products present in the order, Confirm button appears. 

Step 12: Click on Confirm button to proceed further.

After QC user will go ahead with adding cartoon. 

Step 13: Select product from order to select Cartoon

After clicking on Add Cartoon button select packaging material page will appear, with Search SKU/UPC field selected. 

Step 14: Search and add packaging material and click on confirm button.

After clicking on confirm button, user will be navigated to print document screen. 

Step 15: Click on Packing Done.

After clicking Packing done, confirmation screen will appear and you packing is completed.
